Wow wow and wow! Every dish’s flavours were comforting and well-balanced. Actually foods menu were very basic that I believe Thai people cook at home but I was fascinated how delicious and elevated each dish was. Service was impeccable from start to finish, especially from Pi Jom (the owner) whom we received excellent hospitality throughout the meal (and he greeted every table indeed). During our lunch, 2 tables came to celebrate birthday and Pi Jom sang a song with his amazing voice. This made the place and vibe so cozy and connected. We’d happily come back again. Highly recommended for anyone wanting to try local Thai cuisine (Korat, in particular) with a modern and Michelin flair!
Baannok Bangkok was such a hidden gem! We didn't know about it until we went on the Michelin Recommended. It's tucked away on the second floor of what looks like an office building, but don't let that fool you. We didn't even make a reservation, and we walked over around 7:30pm to see if they had room. Although the place was quite busy, they made space for us. We ordered Papaya Salad, Spring Rolls, a Northern Special Curry and a Pork belly Fried Rice (see photos). This was perfect for 2 people. We were more than full afterwards and the food was exceptional. Don't be fooled by the spice levels (they aren't kidding when they say there is such thing as 'normal spicy' and 'thai spicy'). The papaya salad definitely had a kick, and the rest wasn't too spicy at all. Highly recommend!!!!
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Absolute Perfection! Baanok is a masterclass in flavor. Every single dish we ordered was a stunning balance of fresh ingredients, traditional depth, and modern execution. The textures and spices were perfectly layered, making it easily one of the best meals I’ve had in a very long time. The service was impeccable, warm, and attentive. If you appreciate truly phenomenal food, Baanok is an absolute must-visit. Can’t wait to come back!
We ended up here due to the Michelin Guide and like to explore Michelin restaurants. It is quite a small restaurant, and definitely requires reservation at busy times. We called for a table at 1.30 PM and even though it was not possible to book, we still got a table and was not busy at that time. So don't hesitate to call and not only rely on the online booking calendar. The staff was incredibly well trained and was so polite and attentive. The menu is nice, though it really is very expensive for all dishes and is more like a fine dining experience. The taste was good, but it did not blow us away like other MG restaurants honestly. Still nice to try!
The first impression here is the staff. All waiters are very nice & polite. Especially Khun Neung, he brought a lot of positive energy to our table, since we arrived and during the food ordering. All dishes are yummy and also the atmosphere is nice too. We’ll definitely come back here again.
