Exceptional Halal Cuisine and Great Atmosphere I recently visited Zara’s Restaurant, a fantastic halal establishment. For future guests planning an early visit, please note that while coffee service is available from 9:00 AM, the main food menu opens at 10:00 AM. Once the kitchen opened, we ordered the Tom Yum Fried Rice, Beef Fried Rice, and Spring Rolls. Every single dish was exceptionally well-prepared, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. The culinary quality truly exceeded our expectations. I highly recommend Zara’s Restaurant to anyone looking for a memorable dining experience. I will certainly be returning!
Whenever my wife and I visit Bangkok, we make it a point to seek out halal eateries outside the usual city centre hotspots. This time, our search brought us to Zara's Restaurant in the Chinatown area, and we were glad we made the trip. We travelled via the MRT Blue Line and got off at Wat Mangkon Station. Our original plan was to walk to the restaurant since it is only about 10 minutes away, but a sudden downpour changed those plans. Instead, we took a quick Grab ride to the restaurant and arrived comfortably despite the weather. The food was the highlight of the visit. We ordered seafood pad thai, pad khra pao and seafood tomyam. Every dish was enjoyable, but the seafood pad thai and seafood tomyam stood out the most for me. The tomyam in particular came in a very generous portion and could easily be shared among 3-4 people. My wife was especially impressed with the pad khra pao. She enjoyed it so much that she finished the entire plate, something she rarely does. Another pleasant surprise was the pricing. The meal felt reasonably priced and was slightly cheaper than many of the restaurants we have visited closer to Bangkok's busy commercial areas. By the time we finished eating, the rain had eased, so we decided to walk back to the MRT station. It turned out to be a pleasant stroll and a nice way to end the meal. Overall, it was a satisfying dining experience. Good food, generous portions and fair prices make Zara's Restaurant a place I would gladly recommend to fellow travellers looking for halal food in Bangkok's Chinatown area.
It’s a very good restaurant, very nice food, very nice service, very nice prices, and very nice smiles! I will come back to this restaurant if I am in Bangkok.
For major tourist spot, their food are cheaper compared to others. However, the taste is not up to par to what I usually eat in Bangkok for much lesser price. The tomyum fried rice (130 baht) has no vegetables at all. I felt that I was being scammed when I compared what I got and their picture on the menu. This restaurant is next to big road. I do not recommend to eat here when the traffic is heavy as I can see all the smoke especially from buses spread into the restaurant. It can be noisy too.
Small and inconspicuous restaurant on the road that provides very good local food. Every dish can also be made vegetarian, which I loved. I had tofu stir fried basil and my bf had the normal stir fried basil and to start we took spring rolls. Tasty, good portioned and affordable. Recommended!😋
