Description

Meeting with the Italian-speaking Thai guide in the lobby of your hotel and departure to Saphan Taksin pier where we will take a long tail boat and sail along the Chao Phraya River from where you can admire the major temples of Bangkok before reaching the canals that cross the Thonburi neighborhood, a charming residential neighborhood west of the river which was the capital of Siam for 14 years (from 1768 to 1782) and then became the capital of the province of the same name before it was incorporated in 1972 by Bangkok, where the long tails boats glide along narrow canals, khlongs, lined with wooden houses on stilts, while sailing we could see glimpses of the daily life of the inhabitants of the neighborhood. After the tour we will reach Wat Arun or Temple of Dawn for the wonderful chromatic effects that the early morning lights give to the Khmer-style prang and 81 meters high built in stuccoed bricks adorned with thousands of pieces of multicolored Chinese porcelain, it is located across the river. During the reign of Taksin, the Emerald Buddha was enshrined here. At the end of the visit to the temple we will embark on a boat to reach Saphan Taksin to return to the hotel.
