Whilst the city is dotted with flashy establishments exuding glamour and excess, this simple Thai restaurant is a relaxing alternative, with homely décor and a light and airy dining space.
The menu at Tawana Restaurant offers signature Thai dishes such as fried rice noodles with prawns and herby, spicy prawn salad - both of which are perfect, light lunch mains. Soups include a traditional coconut milk broth with chicken and galangal, as well as the unmistakable hot and sour tang of tom yum goong. No Thai menu is really complete without a Thai green curry and at Tawana Restaurant this is served with rolls of chicken, beef or prawns, as well as mushrooms for a vegetarian option. Dishes with some heat include a hot and sour fish sauce served with sliced salmon as well as a spicy fried mackerel salad.
