Supatra River House
Bangkok
A complimentary ferry crossing from Maharaj Pier to the River House is a very generous touch to start an evening at this unique restaurant, which as the name implies sits directly on the water, providing great views across the river and the Bangkok skyline. The staff are very attentive, which ensures the diner will have a memorable experience as the food is highly unlikely to disappoint. Booking a table in advance on the outdoor terrace is advised, or alternatively inside the traditional decorations are stunning and a select quantity of window side tables are available.
The highlight of their menu is seafood which is cooked in a modern Thai style way by blending spices and herbs. An a la carte menu is available including a well presented pineapple and prawn curry which is served in the flesh of the fruit similar to that of a pina-colada. Set menus varying in price are also on hand which are effective in making the guest select dishes which they have never tasted before. Every Saturday night (19:30-20:00) there is traditional Thai entertainment from Patravadi Theater, the famous stage performer, screenwriter, theatre director and the youngest daughter of Khunying Supatra.
Opening times: Monday - Sunday; Lunch 11:30-14:30; dinner 17:30-23:00.
