We had dinner at The Place 168, which was recommended by a food blogger. We ordered the seafood fried rice, Tom Yum Goong, and deep-fried fish with sweet sauce. The Tom Yum Goong had a good, well-balanced flavor, but it didn’t fully meet my expectations. It looked like the dish was advertised with more prawns than what was actually served, and I had to fish around the bowl to find them. Unfortunately, the prawns were also slightly overcooked. The seafood fried rice was decent—nothing outstanding, but enjoyable enough. The deep-fried fish topped with sweet sauce was good, with crispy texture and pleasant flavor, though it wasn’t memorable enough for me to order again on a return visit. One highlight of the meal was the iced green tea, which had a distinctive Thai flavor that I really liked. Overall, the food was solid but not exceptional. Stopped by for a meal and it was really satisfying. The Thai food was flavorful and well balanced, not overly oily or salty. Portions were generous and everything tasted freshly cooked. Service was quick and the place felt relaxed. A solid spot if you want good Thai food without anything too fancy.
We ordered simple and common dishes such as fried rice, fried squid, stir-fried veggies, and milk tea. We did not expect that these simple dishes could still elevate and made us enjoy our dining experience. We will definitely come back whenever we will be in Bangkok!
Introduced by local, since where inside a back lane, which you cant see from outside. Taste good, very authentic and reasonably spicy (for foreigners who can eat as spicy as local) My personal favorite is the fried Morning Glory and chicken with cashew nuts. Waitresses are very attentive and helpful. Price wise is reasonable.
