Thai
Across the street from Bangrak market, a traditional Thai restaurant presents itself by serving delicious dishes, with their curries being the most popular items on the menu, as expected. Many locals choose to eat at Queen of Curry, which demonstrates its reputation as being truly authentic, and consequently the prices are affordable as not many tourists are aware of this hidden gem. Seating options are available inside, however this has a tendency to become rather cramped, so dining on one of their outside tables is more desirable.
The restaurant doesn't pretend to be fancy but it is very clean and the staff there are extremely friendly, especially the head chef and owner who will happily sit down and have a chat with you. Despite the authentic cuisine there is an element of western inspiration in virtually all of the dishes, characterised by healthier ingredients and fresher flavours. The restaurant is becoming increasingly more in demand as its reputation spreads, so booking a table is essential. The restaurant also runs a concealed laundry service which is about a quarter of the price of the surrounding hotels; bring your laundry in the morning, book a table for later and depart with a full stomach and clean clothes.
