Aston Restaurant & Bar

     What was once an abandoned building on Sukhumvit Soi 31 in Bangkok is now a reimaging of Chef Zra Jiraratana's Astron Restaurant & Bar, which was formerly located in the Crystal Design Complex. The 3-storey building is an eccentric, post-apocalyptic-looking mixture of exposed beams and untamed plant-life.

    The gastrobar's interior is divided into a bar and an open kitchen-dining area. The first floor offers a carefully chosen selection of global wines, single-malt scotches, and imported beers. The second level features a large open kitchen in the centre of the room. Dinners sit on 3 sides of the round kitchen, or at one of the surrounding tables. The cuisine is modern European with Asian flare, and served with a simple presentation. Much of the produce is sourced locally and some of the food is even grown on the restaurant's earthy terraces and roof.
