Local tips from Bangkok

If you’re into food markets, don’t just visit the biggest one like Chatuchak. Try walking the smaller stalls at Or Tor Kor Market near Kamphaeng Phet , it’s cleaner and locals shop there more often. You can pick up fresh tropical fruit like mangosteen or rambutan depending on the season. Arriving early is smart to beat the heat and crowds, around 7 or 8 am. Also, wear comfortable shoes and bring cash in small bills, as many sellers don’t take cards and change can be limited.
