This is a 10 out of 10 place. The food was great, big portions that serves two people. Amazing service, location is by the river, inside Capela Hotel. Big was great and helped us with all of our queries. I would recommend it highly.
That Thai dinner was amazing! The place was super elegant but also really welcoming from the moment we got there. The menu had so many great options, and the staff gave awesome recommendations. Out of all the delicious dishes, the Crispy Pork with Chili and Salt and the Cassia Curry were seriously outstanding – you could tell the ingredients were top-notch and expertly made. Big thanks to Khun Tam for his excellent service!

Phra Nakhon offers a genuinely beautiful riverside setting. Sitting by the water is one of the restaurant’s greatest strengths: calm, atmospheric, and effortlessly pleasant. One issue that should be addressed, however, is the constant falling of flowers from the surrounding trees. They do not only land on the table and occasionally into the food, but also on the seats, which is frustrating, as no guest wants to risk staining their clothes before or during a meal. A discreet canopy, netting, or other thoughtful intervention would make a meaningful difference without taking away from the charm of the setting. The food itself was vibrant, expressive, and full of character. There is clear thought behind the menu, and it feels designed with both intelligence and heart. The dishes are colorful, purposeful, and visually uplifting, with plating that feels deliberate rather than decorative for its own sake. There is an energizing quality to the meal, and a real sense that the culinary direction behind it is imaginative and emotionally engaged. What makes this slightly frustrating is that one can also sense the restaurant is capable of an even higher level of execution. The overall concept, flavor architecture, and visual identity are all there. What seems less consistent is the final degree of delicacy, precision, and care in preparation. To reach the level I personally look for, the chef cooking each plate must be fully present, passionate, and exacting. Here, that standard felt somewhat compromised. During my time in Bangkok, I have noticed that inconsistency of this kind is not uncommon. Kitchen teams often seem rushed, hurried, or mentally elsewhere, and unfortunately that does affect the final result. It is a pity, as it prevents restaurants with real potential from fully delivering on their vision. Overall, Phra Nakhon is a very enjoyable restaurant with a beautiful setting, a thoughtful menu, and food that carries both flavor and personality. With more consistency and greater care in execution, it could become truly exceptional.
Highly recommended for authentic flavors and great service, despite a minor seating hiccup. The food here is absolutely amazing. We ordered the som tum, pomelo salad, and an authentic Thai soup. Every single dish hit the mark with incredible, vibrant flavors. If you are looking for truly excellent, high-quality Thai food, this place delivers. The service was top-notch. I want to give a special shoutout to Khun Tum, who was exceptional. He took the time to thoroughly explain the food and the ingredients to us, which really elevated the whole dining experience. The only downside to our visit was the initial arrival. We had booked a table in advance, but when we arrived, it wasn't set up. The table was a bit dirty and had quite a few bugs around it, which made for a slightly unpleasant first impression. However, I completely understand that this is an outdoor seating area (right by the river), so bugs are somewhat inevitable. To their credit, the staff handled it perfectly—they were incredibly fast to clear the bugs, wipe everything down, and get our table properly set up. Despite the slightly bumpy start, the staff's quick recovery, combined with the phenomenal food and Khun Tum's wonderful service, completely won us over. I will definitely be returning!
