Vertigo Grill & Moonbar
Located on the 61st floor of the Banyan Tree Bangkok five star hotel, and a one of a kind experience that you won't find anywhere else in the city. There is a slightly pretentious dress code to follow before entering, but that's expected at a place as luxurious as this. The Grill and Bar are also only open on clear days with no chance of precipitation as there is no covering anywhere on the terrace. The 360 degree panoramic views are breathtaking, particularly at night and at sunset for the opportunity to gaze at the entirety of the city illuminated.
The Vertigo Grill is the dining aspect of the complex and serves a variety of International cuisine; all is presented well using quality ingredients; however the portion size is considerably petite. The Moon Bar serves an array of spirits, wines, beers, and especially their cocktails accompany the scenery very well. Prices across the board are expensive, and if the restaurant and bar was situated on the ground floor it would only cost a fraction of the price. The location is the star attraction, followed by exceptional service, but in actuality the drinks are a little overpriced, and the food struggles to match up to the surroundings.
Opening times: Vertigo 18:00-23:00; Moon Bar 17:00-01:00
