Issaya Siamese Club
Bangkok
An exuberant lounge and restaurant in the core of Bangkok; owned by globally renowned international chef Ian Kittichai. Situated in a traditional 1920's Thai house that boasts tropical gardens where organic herbs and vegetables are grown, and implemented into many of their dishes. The dining room is located on the ground floor which extends onto the large outdoor terrace area overlooking the pristine gardens. Upstairs is a large dining area that can be privately hired for parties and special events. Much of Thai cuisine is characterised by generous portions, but at Issaya the size of dishes has been refined to deliver a more visual appearance bursting with flavour.
The food represents traditional Thai gastronomy that is prepared using modern techniques influenced by western practice. All items on the menu are sourced from local markets, and farms to promote home grown produce. As a result of this the prices do tend to be steeper than many neighbouring restaurants, but the freshness and presentation deserves this higher cost, with a menu that changes on a seasonal basis to reflect the ingredients. Famous dishes on the menu include 'Red-Chilli Glazed Sea bass', and 'Jasmine Flower Flan'. A vibrant Siamese Club allows diners to relax before and after their meal equipped with comfortable sofas and an array of cocktails on the beverage menu.
Opening times: Open everyday; lunch 11:30-14:30; dinner 18:00-22:30; late supper 22:30-01:00.
