Democracy Monument

Bangkok

Museums and Historical Buildings

Placed in the center of a traffic circle, the Democracy Monument is located in the downtown zone of Bangkok and is simple to be reached. The monument is in the middle between the Golden Mount Temple and the Sanam Luang, on the wide boulevard Ratchadamnoen Klang. Democracy Monument was designed to commemorate the Siamese Revolution of 1932; however people started perceiving it as a symbol of democracy several decades later during the student demonstrations in 1973.

What makes the monument interesting to the travelers are the carved manuscript of the Thai constitution, the two golden bowls, the high wings, the fountains and all the symbols from the Thai culture. Very worth to be seen while in Bangkok, so do not hesitate.
