Silom Village Trade Centre
Bangkok
Silom Village is the perfect place for visitors who want to see a little more of the real Thailand but do not have time to leave Bangkok. It is within walking distance of BTS Skytrain.
The trade centre was constructed in 1908 in a traditional Thai ‘Panya’ style building, with square wooden roofing on the colonial houses. There are also a collection of outdoor terraces and plazas for eating and enjoying the weather.
Silom Road has always been, and continues to be, a significant business centre in Bangkok for trading and purchases. As such it is certainly part of the cultural heritage of the city. Today the village is still a gem and with every year that passes the old style architecture looks more charming in its ancient way.
As well as a variety of shopping there are also places to eat in the Silom Village, especially fresh seafood restaurants, although there are other variations. In the evenings come along for the live music and the house band that play outside to visitors. Or for the authentic Thai dancers in the entertainment hall.
