Education

The programme of study is based on the National Curriculum of England, offering a quality education to pupils from Nursery up to Year 13. We offer a rigorous IGCSE programme to Year 10 and Year 11 students as a precursor to the Cambridge-approved A-levels available to study in Year 12 and Year 13, thus preparing students towards University education. Developments are in place to make Bangkok Prep “the best mid-sized international school in Thailand.”

Bangkok Prep successfully gained triple accreditation from the Council of International Schools (CIS), New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC) and Office for National Education Standards and Quality Assessment (ONESQA) in 2011. The school is also a member of the International Schools Association of Thailand (ISAT), Federation of British International Schools in South East Asia and East Asia (FOBISSEA) and Thailand International Schools Activity Conference (TISAC) as well as the Cambridge University-approved IGCSE and A-level examination center.

In 2009-10 we were the recipient of The Prime Minister's Export Award 2009 in International Education and the award for “Outstanding Achievement in School Development and Management” at the World Education/Education Living Expo 2010, which acknowledged our achievements in growth and development.

Bangkok Prep is located in a safe, secure and prime residential area of Bangkok, situated adjacent to the Thong Lo skytrain station in the heart of the Sukhumvit area. It is perhaps the most conveniently located international school in Bangkok.

The school offers state-of-the-art facilities comprising a new indoor sports complex with dance and drama studios, an elevated indoor jogging track, and a regulation size multipurpose indoor sports hall along with a 25 meter outdoor swimming pool. In addition, there are primary and secondary libraries, computer rooms, several playgrounds, multipurpose artificial grass sports fields, an outdoor Early Years learning centre, a new 350-seat auditorium with music practice rooms, a specialist Creative Arts Centre for Music, Art, Drama and Design and Technology.

Bangkok Prep provides an education where students can prepare for life and realise their full potential through a stimulating and challenging international learning community. We aspire to an appreciation of cultural diversity and a willingness to embrace social and personal responsibility.

Our mid-sized school creates a warm, caring, supportive environment that is the Bangkok Prep community. The student-teacher ratio is excellent with the average class size of 18 pupils. This highlights a nurturing learning experience for our pupils. Our fully qualified teaching team is here to make sure that the students are happy and progressing well at Bangkok Prep.

The school is very proud of its international outlook to education. Over thirty nationalities are represented in our school and we celebrate our cultural diversity. Students will develop their own sense of identity whilst recognising and empathising with other cultures, traditions and beliefs.

With enrolment now approaching 650 students, everyone is well-connected with strong friendships across different year levels and cultures. Bangkok Prep students are intellectually stimulated, cheerful, motivated and hard-working.

The students’ lives also extend beyond the academic day with extramural sports competition with other schools, sports coaching programmes, tutoring clubs and an extensive exciting after school activities programme with over 70 clubs such as debating society, orchestra training, tennis, rock climbing, and much more.

We have active student councils and after school activities that have a community service focus to them. The residential trips and a number of the field trips organised across the school are also linked into environmental and community service programmes.

We have a very active, close-knit and valued parents association called ‘Friends of Bangkok Prep’ (FOBP), who regularly become involved with the school on a variety of occasions throughout the year. FOBP organise coffee mornings for parents, support special days and get involved in many international events. This is a good opportunity to meet up with parents, build social ties and discuss ideas that you have for the school.

Welcome to our school and we hope that you become a part of the Bangkok Prep community.
