Barbican Pub
Bangkok
This is a place for westerners to feel at home, expats to take it easy, and westernised Thais to enjoy. The bar shows sports on big screens in the upstairs part, and hosts games with flashy prizes. There are also regular DJ spots and a huge selection of alcoholic drinks. You can wolf down one of their light lunches or snack on the selection of bar food, washed down with one of their classic cocktails. On Monday nights tapas is buy-one-get-one-free, so you won't have to break the bank if you've been indulging all holiday. On Tuesdays selected wines are on offer, but Wednesdays get a bit wilder with free flowing Long Island Iced Tea cocktails for ladies from 7 - 9pm, and cheep beers (100 Bhat) for ladies and gents all night. Thursday's theme is Retro Radio, and whoever can guess the most retro songs between 8 - 10pm wins a bottle of wine or a bucket of Chang Export. Fridays offer cheap shooters and spirits and DJ Billy V. To wind down a bit from the wilder week, the Barbican does a roast dinner on the weekends. Roast chicken breast or roast beef, with all the trimmings of a traditional Sunday lunch, (even a Yorkshire pud) for 350 Bhat.
