Join this group tour to explore the temple ruins of Ayutthaya, the former capital of Siam. The tour includes all entrance fees, an expert German-speaking guide, and lunch at a local Thai restaurant.
Depart from Bangkok in an air-conditioned vehicle or join the tour at Wat Chaiwattanaram in Ayutthaya. Explore Wat Chaiwattanaram, influenced by Cambodia’s Angkor Wat complex. Then visit Wat Lokayasutha, known for its giant reclining Buddha image, one of the few intact structures.
Continue to Wat Phra Sri Sanphet, part of the old royal palace complex where rituals were performed. This temple is considered the most important in Ayutthaya. Next, visit Wat Mahathat, one of the oldest temples, formerly housing the Buddha’s holy relics. Here you can see the famous Buddha head wrapped in Bodhi tree roots.
