Description
Experience the wild side of Rajasthan on an open Gypsy safari (shared) through Ranthambore National Park, one of India’s most celebrated wildlife reserves. Your experience begins with pickup from your selected hotel in Ranthambore or Sawai Madhopur. Travel towards the assigned park entrance, where the driver and licensed forest naturalist will complete the required boarding and entry formalities. Enter the reserve in an open 6-seater Gypsy and follow the forest trails through dry woodland, rocky hills, open grasslands, and areas surrounding seasonal lakes. The elevated, open-air vehicle provides clear views of the landscape and opportunities for wildlife photography. As you explore the assigned safari zone, look for signs of the Royal Bengal tiger. Your naturalist may identify footprints, alarm calls, and other clues that indicate recent animal movement. Ranthambore is also home to leopards, sloth bears, sambar deer, spotted deer, nilgai, wild boars, langurs, crocodiles, and many resident and migratory birds. During the drive, learn about the park’s ecosystem, animal behavior, and conservation work. You may also see historic ruins and weathered structures hidden among the forest, adding a distinctive character to the wilderness. Select a morning safari to experience the forest in cooler conditions, or choose an afternoon safari, as the changing sunlight brings a different atmosphere to the landscape. The safari normally lasts approximately three hours inside the reserve, while the complete experience, including local pickup and entry formalities, takes around three and a half hours. The safari route and zone are controlled by the Rajasthan Forest Department and depend on the permit assigned to your booking. Each zone offers its own landscape and wildlife possibilities. After the safari, you will be dropped back at your hotel or original pickup point in Ranthambore or Sawai Madhopur. Ranthambore is a natural wildlife reserve, and animals move freely throughout the forest. Tiger or other wildlife sightings cannot be guaranteed. Safari zones are assigned by the Forest Department and cannot be changed. Advance booking is highly recommended.Includes
