Your first stop is Wat Phra Sri Sanphet, historically the spiritual center of Thailand within the royal palace grounds. This royal monastery served as the model for Wat Phra Kaew in Bangkok.

Next, visit Wat Mahathat, one of Ayutthaya’s oldest temples. It is famous for the Buddha head entwined in a Bodhi tree root and once housed sacred Buddha relics. Then proceed to Wat Ratchaburana, known for its many Buddha images and gold artifacts.

Lunch is provided at Krungsri River Hotel.

In the afternoon, explore the Chao Samphraya National Museum, which displays Buddha relics from Wat Mahathat’s crypt and other golden treasures including a golden sword, headgear, royal regalia, and sculptures. Afterward, visit Wat Lokaya Sutharam to see the 42-meter-long reclining white Buddha.

Conclude the trip at Wat Chaiwattanaram, located on the Chao Phraya River bank. Built in 1630 by King Prasat Thong to honor his mother, the temple’s architecture is influenced by Cambodia’s Angkor Wat. Return to Bangkok around 5 PM.
