Description
Begin your class with a quick introduction to the sgraffito technique and tools. Practice first on a small test piece, then choose your slip colors. Design and decorate your final pieces by painting and scratching your artwork into the surface.
Decorate pre-made unfired ceramic pieces (greenware) using a traditional technique that combines painting and carving. Apply colored slip paints to the surface, then scratch your design into the layer to reveal the natural clay color underneath—creating bold, detailed patterns and illustrations.
This experience is perfect for beginners and creatives alike: you don’t need prior pottery experience, just curiosity and a willingness to experiment.
