Description

Bangkok's Chinatown is much more than Yaowarat Road. On this 3-hour guided bike tour, you'll explore the neighbourhood beyond the main streets, riding through Talat Noi, local markets, narrow lanes, historic trading streets and residential areas. Along the way, you'll stop for local food and drink experiences and discover how the different parts of Chinatown connect. Your journey begins in Talat Noi, one of Bangkok's oldest riverside neighbourhoods, where traditional shophouses, workshops and local businesses line the streets. From there, ride into Chinatown, moving between quieter backstreets and busier commercial roads as the character of the neighbourhood changes. Along the way, stop for a freshly made patongo, a favourite local snack, before continuing through Chinatown's market streets and neighbourhood lanes. At Wat Mangkon, an important centre of Chinese-Thai heritage, you'll have time to explore the temple and experience the atmosphere of this busy part of Chinatown. After Wat Mangkon, we'll stop for a local dumpling tasting before making our way towards Song Wat through more markets and traditional trading streets, where historic commercial buildings and older businesses reflect Chinatown's long connection with trade. From Song Wat, you'll continue into quieter residential streets where homes, shophouses and local businesses sit close together. You'll also stop for a traditional Chinatown coffee experience at a historic coffee house before continuing through the neighbourhood. With a maximum of 6 guests and an English-speaking licensed local guide, the tour is kept relaxed and personal. There is time to stop, look around, taste local food and hear about the neighbourhoods you're cycling through rather than simply riding from one attraction to the next. The route is ridden at an easy, relaxed pace and is suitable for guests aged 12 and above who are comfortable cycling in an urban environment. Bicycle, helmet, local food and drink experiences, drinks, entrance fees, travel insurance and photographs taken by your guide are included.
