Description

Explore life on and around the klongs (canals) of Bangkok and get a glimpse of how the local people live. See elderly people sitting on the chairs on the wooden docks of their tiny homes overlooking the canal, women hanging laundry to dry, and children jumping into the water and swimming in the canal. Make a stop at Baan Silapin (The Artist's House), a traditional Thai house that has been converted into a public space to preserve art and traditional performance styles. The wooden house, over 200 years old and lovingly restored by its owner, sits at the heart of a small community of rustic shophouses that are connected by a wooden walkway that follows the edge of the klong (canal). Then, pass Wat Paknam Phasi Charoen temple built in the mid-Ayutthaya period in the Phasi Charoen District in Thonburi. Snap a photo of the huge Buddha statue at this temple., which sits towering nearly 70 meters above the ground, and it is Bangkok's biggest Buddha image, with a width of 40 meters in its cross-legged meditation posture. Head back to your starting point having experienced a different side of Bangkok.

Important Information

  • ⇨ Our Bangkok canal tour operates rain or shine. Therefore, cancellations due to weather are not eligible for a refund. ⇨ This tour is not recommended for travelers with mobility issues, as boarding and disembarking the long-tail boat may be difficult due to the lack of stairs at the piers. ⇨ Please note that during the tour, we may experience a wait at one of the water locks, which regulate canal levels. These operate on no fixed schedule and are beyond our control, but they are part of the authentic canal experience. ⇨ We’ll make a stop at the Khlong Bang Luang community. Along the way, we’ll also pass by Wat Paknam Phasi Charoen, where you can admire and photograph Bangkok’s largest Buddha statue from the boat.
