I had a wonderful birthday at this five-star hotel during my trip to Bangkok from August 2nd to 4th. Even though I didn't specify my birthday, the hotel still prepared a cake to celebrate. I would like to express my sincere gratitude to the staff of 1609 who served me from August 2nd to 4th, 2026. Thank you for making my birthday trip so amazing! 💗
Just had the most amazing stay! Our family room was huge and had the best bird's-eye view. 🏨✨ A massive shout-out to the incredible guest services team for making my son's birthday so special. Extra love and thanks to Nene, Nook, Laida, Nina, Fasai, and the whole team for going the extra mile for his birthday setup! 🎂🎉Also, a big thank you to housekeeping for being so prompt and making our stay incredibly comfortable and peaceful. We will absolutely be back soon! 🙏❤️
I’ve stayed at several Ascott properties across different brands — Lyf, Oakwood, and Somerset — and they’ve consistently delivered great experiences. Somerset Thonglor was no exception and definitely lived up to my expectations. After having such a great experience at Somerset Pattaya, it was time to travel to Bangkok, and I decided I also wanted to stay at an Ascott property there. With so many great-looking options in Bangkok, I finally chose Somerset Thonglor — and I’m glad I did. The location is excellent. During the day, especially in Bangkok’s heat, the walk to the BTS can feel a little long, but in the afternoon and evening it’s actually quite pleasant. The hotel also provides a buggy service that frequently goes back and forth, which is very convenient. The neighborhood itself is fantastic, with tons of restaurants all around, including several that are open 24 hours. If nightlife is your thing, there are also plenty of options just around the corner. One of the highlights for me was the pool area. It has a great atmosphere and offers a nice view overlooking the main street. Overall, I had another very positive experience with Ascott, and I would definitely consider staying at Somerset Thonglor again in the future.
Although we stayed for one night only, but i got mixed feelings on this hotel. I booked on the official ASR website for 3 adults and since no information is displayed in the process regarding extra fee is needed for an extra bed, I assumed the charges is final which included 3 people with extra bed. I am quite surprised when front desk requested me extra 900 baht for an extra bed for third person. Obviously the booking pages need to be more clear. Putting that aside, the facility itself is quite ok with the renovated room is quite new and modern. The king size bed is quite large. The gym room has enough machines which is good for a quick workout. The pool view is nice but yet, the stones covering the pool is quite sharp on the edge, causing me injured with quite messy bleeding. Location is not bad for supermarket, restaurants and massage place in few minutes walk, but going to BTS station would be a bit of walking which you will not be pleased when you have your luggage.
One of the best hotel stays I’ve ever had! The hotel is located in Thong Lor which is considered a very high end location with lots of rooftops and restaurants around. The hotel staff is very friendly, but that’s not a surprise considering everyone in Thailand is very respectful :) The pool was amazing! You had sunlight in the morning until 1pm and it was great. I might’ve got lucky because I was always pretty much alone in the pool which was amazing. The pool area is also very beautiful. The gym is nothing special, it lacks lots of machines so I would say they need to improve it a bit but they had all the weights so you can do a decent workout for sure. The room was the star of the show! I got a suite on the 19th floor and it was incredible, super spacious, small balcony but enough to get some air, and it had big windows all around that gave a mesmerising view of Bangkok during the day and specially during the night. Bangkok is full of amazing hotels and I do think this one was a bit on the expensive side for Thailand but I had an amazing time and will most likely be back!
