Supanniga Eating Room Tha Tien

Walked in at around 3 in the afternoon and managed to get a table for my party of two by the river side view. The restaurant is right by the Tha Tien pier. It's rather hot by the window in the afternoon, although there is AC. This is our 2nd time coming here. The first time was last year. Service remains impeccable. Waitstaffs were attentive and polite. We ordered the omelette, son in law eggs, seabass Tom Kha and mango sticky rice for dessert. My highlight was the seabass tom kha; the seabass chunks were thick and juicy, while the creamy coconut milk soup was flavourful and hits all the notes. My only comment is that there were probably too much mushrooms for us. The rest rooms are clean; there is one on the ground floor, and another one on the upper deck. As for wheelchair accessibility, for the ground floor I think it's possible for those with limited mobility although I can't recall (and doubt) there is a wheelchair friendly ramp at the front door. It may be impossible for those with limited mobility to go up to the upper deck for the rooftop dining experience, as there are only stairs available and it was rather narrow. Nevertheless I hope the restaurant keeps up the good quality dining experience.
This place was so fun! Tucked away in a little back alley, you walk inside to a fun and inviting atmosphere and tables that overlook the river and beautiful scenery. I sat inside and requested a table near the window, and it was delightful. I also went upstairs to see the view and it looked awesome too. I ordered the muu chamuang which is pork belly with Thai spices and it was so good. This really is a little hidden gem in a fun area. You should definitely try it next time you were in Bangkok!
I visited Supanniga Eating Room last night. The highlight of this place is definitely the view — the night scenery is beautiful and the overall ambiance is really nice, especially if you’re looking for a more aesthetic dining experience. However, when it comes to the food, it was quite average. Not bad, but nothing particularly memorable or impressive either — just standard Thai dishes. Considering the pricing, I personally felt that you’re paying more for the atmosphere and view rather than the food itself. Overall, good for the vibe, but not a place I would specifically go back for the food.
The restaurant is located near the Grand Palace, the aesthetic yellow wall, and Soi Tha Suphan, so you can easily combine these spots in one trip. If you’d like to sit outdoors upstairs, it’s recommended to make a reservation in advance, and there is a minimum spend of 2,000 baht. However, you won’t be able to choose a specific table—it’s assigned randomly. If you arrive early and prefer a certain spot, you can ask the staff for assistance. The staff here are incredibly lovely. When I made the reservation, I noted that I would be celebrating a birthday, and toward the end of the meal, they surprised me with a small cake and sang a birthday song. Definitely a 10/10 for their hospitality. As for the food, it suited my taste quite well. I would recommend trying it at least once, especially since the restaurant has been awarded a Michelin star for several consecutive years.
The Ultimate Sunset View • The Vibe: Spacious, airy, and breezy. It offers arguably the best front row seat to Wat Arun across the river. • The Food: The flavors are bold and authentic yet incredibly well balanced. Unlike many local spots, the dishes aren't overly sour or spicy, making them very approachable and flavorful. • Must-Order: The Stir-fried Cabbage with Fish Sauce is a must, surprisingly simple but packed with umami. • Pro Tip: Arrive between 5:30 PM – 6:00 PM. Watching the sunset transition into the golden glow of the temple lights is a breathtaking experience.
