The staff were very nice and welcoming. The location was perfect to everything I wanted to see (Grand Palace & Chao Phraya River). The roof top bar has an amazing view of Wat Arun! Room was clean and safe. 5 stars! Would definitely recommend!
Sala Rattanakosin’s rooftop bar was one of the highlights of my visit to Bangkok. The setting is simply stunning. Located beside the river and close to the Grand Palace, it offers beautiful panoramic views, particularly at sunset. Watching the golden roofs of the nearby temples and palace buildings change colour as the sun gradually sets was a memorable experience and created a truly magical atmosphere. The service was excellent throughout. The staff were polite, attentive, and professional without being intrusive, helping to create a relaxed and welcoming environment. The cocktails and mocktails were both well prepared and enjoyable, while the canapés and small bites were exceptionally delicious and complemented the drinks perfectly. Considering the quality of the experience, the prices were very reasonable. The open-air rooftop setting provides a refreshing breeze and an extremely relaxing atmosphere, making it an ideal place to unwind while taking in some of Bangkok’s most iconic views. The venue was also easy to access, which added to the overall convenience. Overall, Sala Rattanakosin Rooftop Bar combines spectacular views, excellent service, delicious food and drinks, and a wonderfully relaxing ambience. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a memorable sunset experience in Bangkok.
Had an amazing stay at Sala Rattanakosin Bangkok. We booked the Wat Arun Suite with river view, and the view was absolutely magnificent — waking up to the stunning scenery of Wat Arun and the Chao Phraya River was truly unforgettable. A very special shoutout to Manager Nook and Bie for their exceptional hospitality throughout our stay. From the moment we checked in to dining at the restaurant, they constantly made sure we were comfortable and well taken care of. Their attentiveness, warmth, and genuine care really made us feel welcomed and valued as guests. Service like this is what turns a good hotel stay into a memorable experience. We also loved the breakfast selection and the beautiful atmosphere of the hotel. Everything felt peaceful, cozy, and thoughtfully curated. Thank you once again to the team for making our Bangkok trip so special. We will definitely be back again on our next visit!
I was with my family—my wife and 2 kids (3 years + 5 months)—in one room. The location for trips to the river, Wat Arun, or the palace is very good. The restaurant and the rooftop bar are highly recommended. The whole crew, from the reception to the cleaning staff, is very friendly and helpful. Later, we were able to easily get an earlier check-in for additional family members for a new room—thanks, very professional. Honestly, the hotel isn’t really set up for families, which isn’t a bad thing (since they cater to other guests), but they did everything they could to make our stay very pleasant. I just mean in terms of the facilities—no elevator or pool.
Very modest on the outside but cool and stylish inside. It has a rustic appeal. The staff are so helpful and the service is incredibly warm. The location is excellent for seeing the main temples and palace. Right on the river, you can hop on and off the ferry to get to other parts of the city. It also makes it cooler and less congested compared to other areas. The food and breakfast are excellent and the rooftop bar comes alive with amazing cocktails and music, after 4pm (book a table for sunset). The view across to Wat Arun is beautiful. We had a bright, spacious river view room. (Not the best lighting in the rooms though). There are lots of very good places to eat nearby. Note that there are no lifts but the staff will take your luggage up and down the stairs for you.
