Baan Vajra

Had a great stay here. My first room ran into some issues but the staff kindly upgraded me to a better room for free when I informed them. The location is great. Lots of vibrant streets within walking distance, and street food stalls set up right outside almost every morning. The place itself is a beautiful, renovated group of colonial villas with a wide variety of rooms from very basic to beautifully decorated. I'd recommend going for the higher end rooms, as I did find the experience to be worth it.
Baan Vajra is located in one of the best areas of Bangkok—close to key attractions yet pleasantly tucked away from the chaos and street noise. The property itself is well maintained, surrounded by greenery, and offers a calm, relaxed vibe that makes it a great escape within the city. The rooms are on the smaller side. Since we stayed only for two nights, it didn’t impact us much, but for the price point, slightly larger rooms would have been appreciated. On the positive side, the bathrooms are spacious and well designed. One aspect that was disappointing was the deposit requirement at check-in. We were asked to pay a 500 THB deposit, which was not mentioned on the booking platform (like Booking.com). While the amount was refunded at checkout, the lack of prior communication made it feel a bit unpleasant and unnecessary—especially when many properties in Thailand manage without such practices. Overall, the staff was courteous and helpful, and the stay was comfortable, but a bit more transparency and refinement in guest experience would elevate it further.
I have only good things to say about this hotel and it’s staff. The hotel itself is a very cute colonial style of building in the Silom area. An oasis in the middle of the busy surroundings and high buildings. We had a regular double room facing the inner courtyard. The room was small but very nice and clean. We liked how the shower and toilet was separated with a small middle room with the basin. More than anything the staff was great; Auy welcomed us and was very professional throughout our stay (2 nights). She is really on her toes taking care of this place, like if it was her own. Marcus was exceptional and went far and beyond. I forgot some valuables in the safe which he informed me about. I did not have to panic, he then packaged it for me and had it sent up to Chiang Mai, our next stop. My package arrived 2 days later and he kept in touch throughout the time to help me in the best way. An outstanding service guy, a keeper the owners should take very well care of. Giving this type of service is an art. He totally saved the continuation of our trip. I am so very grateful🙏🏼🙏🏼. Thanks again a million Marcus!!!
I cant say enough good things about this place. The property and rooms are amazingly beautiful and right in the center of the big city. When you are on the property you truly forget where you are due to how peaceful and tranquil the area is. Plenty of coffee shops, food, and a 711 just outside the front gate (which has a guard at all times for an added sense of security). I unfortunately do not recall the owners name but he was so nice and friendly and very accommodating. He even greeted us by name everytime he saw us. Again, I cant say enough good things about this amazing location. Oh, and the homemade breakfast is a must try. We sacrificed running a bit late to our flight to enjoy it near the koi pond and fountain.
